June 2002.  John Jackson  sent in this class photograph. he attended DPS 1951 to1956.
" Like so many former pupils of Dalmarnock Primary School I thank the school and teachers for the  good start I was given in life. I lived at 342 Nuneaton Street, Dalmarnock and will never forget  my youth and the wonderful  place where I was brought up."

"My brother seems to have a better memory than I thought and he has put quite a few names to the faces in the John Jackson's photo of 1953, 7 yr olds.  He is also going to bring into the school as many of our photos as they can find, to be scanned. (He hasn't come in to the 21st century yet and bought himself a computer, but we are working on him.)  Once he gets my photos on the web I can try to identify who is all in them.  When I was back for a visit in 1993 I thought that one of my old photos was up on the school wall beside the school office, but I don't see it out on the web site? 
Keep up the good work.  I am having a great time walking down memory lane and passing on some of the history to my children.   All the best!  Sadie

I was pleased come across an old class photo – 1953 7yrs – I am in the 3rd row, number 12.  I also recognize Robert Leishman – front row number 6.  I was eight years old when we left Glasgow in 1955.
I was born in 1947 at 29 Dunn Street as was my sister Wilma (1945), brothers Robert (1941) and James (1948). We all attended Dalmarnock Primary School, Robert going to John Street High School when he got older. We moved to Leeds in 1955 and then Australia in 1961. I haven’t been back to the UK since but hope to do this for my 60th birthday.

I have just looked at the school photos and I am in the 1953- 7yr 3rd row 9.
Geraldine Clarkson nee White now living in Australia.
I phoned my sister to go into your site and we have just spent the last hour and a half on our respective computers going through wonderful memories. Thank you.

Dear web-master, I'm Ellen Dolan, a pupil at Dalmarnock Primary, a seven yr.old in 1953.I would like to add names of pupils I remember, starting with second row. I was third on left, second on left was Margaret Barnes, next to me on other side Rita Cooper. In third row, fith from right, Sadie Taylor.
